Trail Stewardship
Trail stewardship is an excellent way to make a lasting positive impact on the Mt. Tam Watershed for future generations of trail users.
This volunteer trail crew day will primarily involve vegetation pruning along trails and storm-related debris removal. The day will start with a safety talk and project overview at 9:30 a.m., followed by a hike to the site. Volunteers should be prepared for a 5-mile roundtrip hike while carrying equipment and personal packs.
Registration is required. All experience levels are welcome – that includes those with no trail work experience to professionals! Trail events are suitable for ages 13 and up, with parental supervision required for volunteers under 16. All first-time volunteers must also sign our Volunteer Service Agreement, and all volunteers under 18 must have the form signed by a parent or guardian.
Maximum number of volunteers is 15. Further details will be shared with registered volunteers closer to the event date. Parking passes, tools, gloves, snacks and water are provided. Dress for variable weather and bring a water bottle and lunch. Please note that lunch will not be provided for this event.
