Lucas Valley Preserve

Let’s hike up Big Rock Ridge to view the sunrise from the top. Distance: 6.2 miles; elevation gain: 1,250 feet. All ages are welcome, but please note this hike is strenuous. Dress in layers and wear sturdy shoes. Friendly dogs ok but must be on leash. Adverse weather or poor air quality may cancel; if in doubt, call (415) 473-2816 two hours before the event to confirm the status. Registration required.

Directions: Meet at the Big Rock trailhead in San Rafael. From Hwy 101 in San Rafael, take the exit for Lucas Valley Rd west approximately 5.5 miles (look for the big rock). The trailhead is on the north side of Lucas Valley Rd.
