This spring season, Watershed and One Tam ambassadors will talk to visitors at Carson Falls about the foothill yellow-legged frog and how visitors can protect this special species.

For everyone interested in supporting these visitor outreach efforts, we will host this online "Outreach 101 and Tam Van Orientation." This online training prepares volunteers to support outreach efforts at Carson Falls in April, at Lake Lagunitas in June and more. Volunteers work from the Tam Van, our mobile visitor center, and at Carson Falls.

We will discuss techniques for effective communication and public engagement. We will also cover safety protocols, how to use the outreach supplies, how to record observational data, and everything else you need to know before volunteering for an outreach shift at the Tam Van or Little Carson Falls.

We'll meet 9-10 am for new folks and 10-10:30 for returning volunteers who just want a refresher. We'll send a zoom link out to all registered people before the event.

Save the date! On Tuesday, March 14, we will also have a special in-person tour to Carson Falls for our volunteers, led by Marin County Parks naturalist, Shannon Burke. Stay tuned for more information.
