The Light Show
Source: Marin County Parks
Blithedale Summit Preserve. Meet at the gate near the end of Glen Dr in Mill Valley.
Sunday, August 22, 2021, 6:30 – 9:30pm

Grab a flashlight and join Ranger Gabe for an invigorating evening hike and enjoy nature's light show! Weather permitting, we will hike up Blithedale Ridge and watch the sunset behind Mount Tam. Next, we will walk along the ridge and watch the City's skyline light up under a rising full moon. Finally, we will switch on our own lights and descend through a dark forest.
This is ideal for ages 6 and up. Degree of difficulty: Moderate. Remember to bring a flashlight, dress in layers, and wear sturdy shoes. We’ll provide water and healthy snacks. Friendly dogs are welcome but must be leashed.
Extreme weather cancels: Call (415) 473-7191 to get an update on fire danger status and land closures. If a "Red Flag" warning is in effect, all walks and events on Open Space District preserves are canceled.
Contact Ranger Gabe Ngarangad at gngarangad@marincounty.org or (415) 473-2816 with any questions.
Directions: From Hwy 101 in Mill Valley, take the exit for E Blithedale Ave west 1.4 miles. Turn right onto Carmelita Ave, right onto Buena Vista Ave, and follow Buena Vista (turns into Glen Dr). The gate is approximately 1 mile up on the left (before dead end).
