Historic McNears Beach Park

Learn about the diverse and rich history of McNears Beach Park. We will spend our time together learning about the local First Peoples, Colonial California, the McNears family, and this area's Chinese community.

No pets (except service animals) are allowed at this park. Park entrance fee is waived for participants. Please dress in layers and wear sturdy shoes. Remember to bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat. Adverse weather may cancel. Check the calendar on the day of the event to see if it is canceled.

Directions: Meet at the snack bar in McNears Beach Park in San Rafael (201 Cantera Way)., From Hwy 101 in San Rafael, take the exit for Central San Rafael east. Take 2nd St east, which merges into 3rd St, and then turns into Point San Pedro Rd. Follow Point San Pedro Rd for 3.6 miles, turn right at Cantera Way, and follow to the large parking lot at the end. The snack bar is in view 100 feet from the left/northern end of the parking lot.
