CANCELLED - Deer Island Oaks

Oaks and their acorns are vitally important to a broad spectrum of animals (including humans). We’ll discuss the role of these trees in local ecosystems as we compare several oak species and a few interesting hybrids. Total miles: 1.5. Elevation change: 250' including a fairly steep downhill section. Remember to bring lunch, and binoculars if you have them. No pets (except service dogs) are allowed. Adverse weather or poor air quality may cancel.
Registration is required. Use the automated system to sign up or cancel; event leaders do not manage registration.

Directions: Meet at the gate on Deer Island Ln in Novato. From Hwy 101 in Novato, take the exit for Atherton Ave east 1.7 miles. Turn right onto Olive Ave and left onto Deer Island Ln. The gate is on your right.
