Mount Burdell Preserve
Sunday, March 26, 2023, 10am – 12pm

Learn the basics of backpacking with rangers. We'll prepare you for a multiday backcountry outing and the necessary supplies. Afterward, you can practice with your gear as we take an easy hike through the preserve. Distance: 1 mile; elevation gain: 300 feet. All ages are welcome. Wear sturdy shoes, bring water, and a backpack if you have one. Friendly dogs are ok but must be on leash. Save time on the day of the event by signing in now. Adverse weather or poor air quality may cancel; if in doubt, call (415) 473 2816 two hours before the event to confirm the status.

Directions: Meet at the gate on San Andreas Dr in Novato. From Hwy 101 in Novato, take the exit for San Marin Dr west 2.3 miles. Turn right onto San Andreas Dr and follow approximately 0.5 miles. The gate is on the right (before dead end).
